Folks what do you think of this feature removal? Can't swipe in from the bottom corners to trigger the assistant (Gemini on s24 ultra for me).

I feel like this is the most ridiculous thing Samsung has done since I've been using their devices since s21u, which is saying a lot.

Using this gesture is now muscle memory for me and so many other people. Why would they remove this mapping, without giving us a choice or even a replacement functionality for that gesture? Is the point only to annoy and test their customers?

I really don't think I'm interested in unlearning and relearning to how use my phone and might have to give up on Samsung for my android needs.

Yeh Samsung is a champion in killing or ruining useful features.

I swear, I literally use that gesture often. They should have left it; it's useful. Samsung often removes settings functions in every big update.

The long press on power button doesn't even work for me, it just brings up the power menu.

But you can use One Hand Operation from Good Lock to add a custom gesture to trigger Gemini.

That's because you have to go to settings to turn on the power button trigger for Gemini.

I hate that they removed it. That was my main way of activating my voice assistant, next to saying the key phrase out loud. I have my side button long press mapped to a different function, so now the only way to quickly activate my voice assistant is via the key phrase. They should have it from an accessibility standpoint, as those with hand mobility issues may find it difficult to press the side button long enough to activate the assistant. There is no reason why they should go out of their way to remove it too.

You can use One Hand Operation + by using a swipe up up or down to be Google assistant (gemini)
