Auto Focus issues when taking photos

Today I attempted to take a couple zoomed pictures of a mourning dove perched on a feeder. I chose to zoom in to about 24x. I know that keeping steady is very important so I kept still. The camera would not focus consistently on the bird, but rather it most often would focus on the background behind the bird. I would say I was about 12 feet from the bird inside my house, but the focus was sharp on a fence and some tree branches at the back of my yard, which is about 50 to 60 feet from where I stood. I also note that I had the yellow focus box appear on the birds head, so I figured it would come into focus, but maybe one of the ten photos would focus. Lighting was good, subject was still. I also tried manual focus on pro mode, that locks you in at 10x zoom, and I just couldn't get any good focus on the bird.

Please report as bug/error. I've been on them about the camera quality on OneUI6 since the start. Quality was way better by far on oneui5.
