When an update becomes available do I need to check in settings, in software update? Because for some reason, for standard updates, my phone never seems to alert me that there's an update available.
When it comes to the beta update. Normally when you log in you'll see a notice alert saying there's an update available.
When it comes to your regular updates outside of beta, I'd suggest checking your settings. If you have it set to auto update then check to see if its download on wifi only or not. I'd also factor in unlock vs locked to a carrier.
