Changes to app switching while in multitasking view?

In One UI version 5.1 (and prior versions), it was possible to swap an app in split screen view with another app using various techniques, however in One UI 6 it seems that any attempt to switch one of the apps displayed in split screen view instead launches a full screen version of the new app.

Does anyone know if this is the intended new behavior going forward, or just a limitation for now, perhaps due to a temporary incomplete implementation of a GoodLock module such as MultiStar?

Or is there a method to restore the previous app switching behavior that someone knows of?

MultiStar is working correctly.
Once set up, long press the app switcher in the nav bar.

See screen shots for switching apps while in split screen.

You can also create app pairs for the edge panel and future use. Very useful!Screenshot_20231104_055141_One UI Home.jpgScreenshot_20231104_055249_Google Play Store.jpgScreenshot_20231104_055352_Google Play Store.jpgScreenshot_20231104_055429_Calculator.jpg

Thanks for the app switching tip, I had forgotten about that. However, that's a tiny invisible tap-target to bring up those options, and that app switching launcher listing of apps is def a clunkier way of switching out one of the split screen apps with a new app.

I'm frustrated that they seem to have disabled the previous functionality, in which you could use an app like One Handed Gesture to trigger an app selection menu that would let you replace whichever split screen app windows was last active. Now that just launches a whole new full screen app.
