Maybe I need some caffeine in me but I've read the the information in the 'Direct Voicemail' section 3 times and it reads like incoherent sentences mushed together.

@User684156 you really need to cleanup what the ๐Ÿ”ฅ it actually does in an easy to understand description.

If I can't read it half asleep, the average user will have zero idea what that means as well. (Me asleep = casual user base)

Hmmm .... Seems to be explaining how it works. I understand your frustration due to your exchanges and experience with trying to set up the feature tho.

They are two separate software systems at play tho. The newer "direct voicemail," feature kinda allows you to have a transcription service natively that carriers tend to add a "premium voicemail," charge to its customers.

Hope this helps

Think of this feature as old school answering machine if you are old enough to remember, you can answer the call halfway during a message, it is different than your carrier voicemail

Yeah, from what I've seen, the carriers tend to add a "premium voicemail," charge to the customers for transcription services.

So literally it could have been summed up as "Listen/Read voicemails live as they are being recorded and decide if you want to pick up after all or let it go to VM as before"

Albeit a long sentence but a single one that explains it vs the college essay of incoherent babble they wrote.

Except it's not. At least not from a cleanliness standpoint. Google actually did a good job with their implementation on Pixels.

I get you're attempting to be concise. It still doesn't go to the carrier voicemail system.
It's saved directly to the phone and is accessed thru the call logs.

Pros and Cons.
If one had no service and a VM was left, people will be looking for their voicemail in the above mentioned section and see nothing and have to look in two places.
Furthermore, Samsung now has to sync that with their other Samsung stuff.

VM was technically the first to be "in the cloud" since back in the day.

Either way, useful but not a good implementation. Nor is the attempt at call screening. Google for once did a good job at something when they added it to Pixels, aside from it being Pixel exclusive.
