Drop down notification panel

I really dislike how the screen goes completely dark when pulling down the notification panel. Hopefully it does not stay this way.

This does not work I have mine turned off there is a very very slight difference I took screenshots of both light and dark modes the first picture of each is the enhancement setting off the second is with it on

That's odd, mine works fine. Have you tried clearing your cache?

I dislike it also I feel it shouldn't come all the way down especially if I just want to change a quick setting or something

Try MI Control center, you can customize it however you like.
Add toggles, gestrues, backgrounds, button shapes, colors, text, transparency, kitchen sinks, babies in bathwater, you nane it.
