DiscussionsButtons is the last option when adding a routine. Map all your hardware buttons for long press and double press.
I have Gemini mapped to long press of the side key (power) and double press for the camera. Works fantastic.

DiscussionsI was running Google Assistant but upgraded to Gemini via Google Assistant.
When I long press the side key it activates Gemini with the Mic, even when the screen is off.
The side key power button is the only button that works when the the screen is off.
Mine is set to double press for the camera. Both work flawlessly.
Hope this helps!

DiscussionsI had forgotten that I even did that with RegiStar but that appears to be the missing link and what I did to get it to work.
I actually just use routines to control the volume output when Gemini is launched. This way, the voice output is just what I want each time and not dependant upon where I have the media volume set at any given time. See screenshots.
Glad you were able to get it sorted out. It is a very nice feature.

DiscussionsGemini replaces Google Assistant. If it hasn't, select it (Gemini) from your Google Assistant settings.
