Google play system hasn't had an update on 8.5 Beta

Anyone else having this problem. Haven't had an update since last year

You're running the beta, so this should be posted on the beta boards.

Go to settings > Google services > all services > system services. Update whatever has an update available, specifically Play services and Mainline services.

I had that issue as well not on beta, had to return my phone through Verizon. Now it works.
Most likely a hardware problem

This is normal in beta. Once stable is released, you'll be able to update.

Me also no updat hade to go around and do the update in the other settings menu that also have same setting not shur why

Yes, i'm having the same problem.I'd go into different settings, meaning to get it to update

Again, since the user is using 8.5 beta, Play Store updates are suspended until the OS goes stable. Once that happens, users will be able to update the Play Store software.
