Issues with Chrome browser and display brightness

Today I started having issues with my chrome browser and brightness level. I tried restarting but it didn't help. The Chrome browser keeps loading the page but never finishes. It's stock in a cycle that keeps repeating trying to load the pages. My brightness level now only looks like it's maybe half of the brightness it should be. I also tried the extra brightness level and turning on and off the adaptive brightness but it too isn't helping.

Chrome - did you try clearing the cache on the chrome app?
Phone settings - apps - chrome - storage - clear cache

For the brightness issue -
You may have toggled "extra dim" it is a quick setting

I checked, and extra dim is off. I also cleared the cache, tried restarting several times. The extra brightness shows no difference at all. And chrome just keeps refreshing the page continuously what seems like every nanosecond

I would see if there's any updates available for the Chrome app because that could be the problem itself. If you don't have any updates available for it I would suggest that you just uninstall it and then reinstall it to see if that helps.

It didn't help. Fwiw, firefox works fine
