Why is it that UI becoming more and more like iOS?

what happened to the iconic Android blue buttons in quick panel? 

What's that shaded blur background?

First off, the blue was bad. I would have preferred green but the white is nice as well.
Secondly, the blurred background should be darker as well.

I've seen many screenshots with these white buttons for the quick toggles. Perhaps a theme was applied when the users installed the beta. Did these users revert back to the stock theme since they took the beta?

So did you pick the color via the Material You color picker?

You can change the color of the buttons by going to themes

I use always use the wallpaper color picker, enjoying the panel buttons having a splash of color

I agree, the dark background is much better to see, and I think it would make the overall new look better.
