After this latest update has anyone noticed that now you cannot boot into recovery mode and wipe the cache partition? It only gives you three options now. Reboot, reset or power off. What in the **bleep**? Please provide input if anybody knows about this.

Tbh, the WCP was redundant in the first place. Samsung was one of the few that allowed it even over the past 3 years or more. Google, Oneplus all removed command line form their device a few years ago. The system is far more efficient with the newer Android builds. Here is a little known fact that goes back years; simply restarting the device performed the same cleaning methods. If any heating battery drainage or sluggishness occurred after an update, restarting the device will clear out files that did not get cleaned out during the firmware update and it restarting.

I did not realize this. The last 6 phones I've owned were Samsung so little knowledge of other makers. But remember how they always say "clear cache after OS update"? I guess not anymore.

@Bobthahog Also, it is not that using the WCP command was not useful, but on an actual funciton, restarting devices already cleared out system cache leftovers from the previous firmware. Sometimes after a reboot form a new firmware update, they are not cleared out completely, so the idea was let the user do more. I don;t think Samsung removing those command form the recovery screen was to let people down, as much as perhaps they are getting their massive OS skins to more efficient at clearing itself out.

Yes, I remember how they recommended that as well, even Usbetamoderator3 & Usbetamoderator2 have recommended it through these years.

Wouldn't going into settings and then device care allow you to do the same thing?

Yeah but then you have to individually do every app separately. I did that still even after wiping the cache in the recovery. So that's how it'll be done now.

I also noticed the same thing, it was there for the past 5 updates up until this one so it does make me wonder if this is actually intended to be removed or not.
