Quick Panel Lag

Dear Samsung Support Team,

I am reporting a reproducible system-level performance issue affecting Galaxy devices, most notably flagships, including the S24 Ultra. The issue persists after a full factory reset and is not related to user configuration, third-party applications, or misuse.

Issue Description

Opening the Quick Settings / Notification Panel for the first time after a screen orientation change causes a noticeable lag or stutter. This behavior occurs unconditionally and becomes significantly worse under system load, such as during gaming, video playback, or screen recording.

The lag occurs only on the first invocation of Quick Settings after rotation. Subsequent openings are smooth until the device is rotated again. This indicates a system/UI state reinitialization or layout recomposition issue tied to orientation changes.

This behavior is widely reported across Galaxy devices. While it appears less severe on the S25 lineup, it is still present, indicating partial mitigation rather than resolution.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Quick Settings.

2. Close Quick Settings.

3. Rotate the device (change screen orientation).

4. Open Quick Settings โ€” lag occurs.

5. Close Quick Settings.

6. Open Quick Settings again โ€” no lag.

7. Close Quick Settings.

8. Rotate the device and repeat โ€” lag reappears.

Additional Notes

- Occurs even after a hard reset.

- Independent of user-installed apps.

- Exacerbated by high system load.

- Reproducible 100% of the time following orientation change.

- Suggests a One UI / SystemUI performance or rendering issue.

This appears to be a core SystemUI optimization problem related to orientation handling and Quick Settings initialization. Acknowledgment and investigation at the firmware/UI framework level are requested.

Have a nice day!
