Screen On Time

When you keep an app open in the background so it launches quicker, but is not in the foreground, as I have set the Sonos app, why is battery usage charged to screen on time? 

Also, why would the usage of battery be so high? The app is held open in the background. 

Seems like there is a more acurate way to report battery usage.🤔
