There are a lot of Watch 6 display models running the stable version of the new OS so why are we still testing the beta version?

I still don't understand what they have to work on before sending this update OTA. I think I'll be fine with a few bugs being left unresolved, but for the time being, I want the new watch faces and features that are already present in the stable release now.

We beta testers are all Watch4 or Watch5 people. Ours is technically less capable than Watch6 hardware. I think that Samsung is just trying to provide the best user experience for beta testers when their evaluation is complete. You can bet your bottom dollar that if they released a slightly buggy final release, that they would never hear the end of the righteous indignation about how incompetent they are.

Besides, no software is perfect, all software is "beta" to a degree, as developers are always improving it. Most people look at true beta software as being when the usability bugs of new software outweigh the benefits of that software.

Look at it this way: Samsung is just going to "spit shine" the release version of Wear OS4.

That's great but if you're like me and you have to trade in your Galaxy watch 4 for your new Galaxy watch 6 you need the final build so you can reset your watch and send it in to Samsung.

Were you able to contact them and ask for an extension seeing that you are a One UI5 Watch Beta Tester?  Seems a bit unreasonable given that they have not yet released the stable Wear OS4 software. Supposedly they value their Beta testers.

The customer service representative I talked to insisted it was okay for me to reset the watch even though I told her that it would probably be bricked.

I'm not willing to take that chance and I'm just praying that they released a stable version for the Galaxy Watch 4 so I can reset it and send it in as my trade-in for the Galaxy Watch 6.

Same boat here.

"Fortunately,"  Samsung has delayed shipping my GW6C until end of September. Will buy more time for the official OS4 on the GW4C.

Maybe the delay is a hat tip from Samsung for the timing of the official release. šŸ˜‚

Sleep tracking works fine with the beta.

The problem is stable version has already been released for the Galaxy watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy watch 4 have identical internal components so what's the holdup?

Not sure where you got that idea but it's not correct. There is no stable version yet for the Watch 5 or 4.
