System UI is a runaway train!
This needs to be optimized. 1755567691671.jpg1755567693424.jpg

I wonder if this this why people aren't getting the update, even though they've joined the beta. Maybe Samsung paused it to fix this issue. At least that's what I'm hoping, anyway.

Many people aren't dumb enough to buy shamesung phone, i got this s24 ultra free so i stayed for while before sell for cash. Been fan s to s10 but their battery just horrible, remove and patched feature that people figured out on internet and shamesung added to their next so called flagship. Few tiny example, shamesung message used to have rcs on s24 now they removed and added to s25, now brief people figured out how to added to s24 one ui 7 now they patched on one ui 8 beta, btw it's tr.sb and boring feature anyway, i believe there more but since im just back on s24 but not for long. It's 2025, we used device for convenience not worry about battery life everyday. Other manufacturer use same chip or even high specs but their battery last much more longer, what else other manufacturer doesn't have? Example motorola camera allow horizon lock feature on camera. Shamesung just gone downhill because they think they outsmart consumers with their selfishness game. Look on their beta section, do you guys see overcrowded bug report? They actually don't need that if noone report, it's their problem to fix not us, androjd release stable version, they just patch and add feature, remove feature from android and bug out with their old api, oh not their api, androjd api, they need to copy and past or whaever to make it work with their so called modules, android not their Os, it's Google's Os ( purchased from android ). Wake up and give other manufacturer a try. It's freedom, life easy, doesn't matter whatever stable version they release, always one ui battery killer. Not worth to pay this kind of price point from a manufacturer they use free opensoure Os, i feel ashamed when they compare their price with Icry ( iphone ) even though i never fan of. But atleast they build their own ios. * i wish once day Google pull androjd out of other manufacturer, * cry me a river yoh

Follow-Up:

After disabling the Peek Display (third party notification app), System UI battery usage has returned to normal levels.

It appears that Peek Display’s background activity—especially around lock screen overlays and sensor polling—was being routed through System UI, inflating its battery stats.

Screenshot attached confirms improved behavior under similar usage conditions.

This may help Samsung isolate how third-party apps interact with System UI and refine how usage is attributed. I encourage others to test similar apps and share results.

Side Note:

App Test Update – NotiGuy vs. Peek Display
Testing NotiGuy (same developer as Peek Display) shows promising results. It offers dynamic notification visibility—even with AOD enabled—without inflating System UI battery usage. Unlike Peek Display, which seemed to route overlay activity through System UI, NotiGuy appears to use more efficient hooks and display logic.

Early results suggest better battery behavior and notification clarity.

Will continue monitoring for any background drain or UI impact.

This could inform Samsung’s guidance on third-party notification tools and help refine attribution in battery stats.

Why This Matters:

The entire reason third-party notification apps like these exist is because Samsung has yet to fully address this gap. There are no native LED indicators or visual notification solutions that function reliably when the screen is off. At least not with the consistency or customization offered by third-party tools. This is an opportunity for Samsung to consider more robust native options in future builds.

Final Note:

Battery optimization must be a sincere priority for Samsung. Even with Power Saving mode enabled, battery life on the Galaxy S24 Ultra is not what I would consider stellar.

While the device is aging, battery health remains strong, which points to software inefficiencies rather than hardware decline.

Further OS-level refinement is needed to ensure users are not compensating for system drain through manual interventions.1755629895598.jpg

I have had a few days it is fine. Then a few times One UI will go over 8% in just a couple of hours. I have time restart my phone. I have been on the beta for about a week now.

Yep, same experience...all is well until it isn't. Very inconsistent!
Reboot to flush out. Should not be the case as I regularly reboot once a week at minimum.
