I noticed after the update this morning my son grabbed my phone to play fortnite and it pretty much locked up my phone where it became unresponsive to touch . So much to the point I couldn't even exit out to the recents menu to close out the app . Every few seconds the lock screen would just reflash and ask for fingerprint and then get stuck in Fortnite almost like a bootloop.

If you haven't already.

(phone) Settings > Apps > Fortnite

Force Stop (lower right)
then Storage Clear Cache

Next search for my post in Tips:
Apps crashing on your beta - try this

After Wiping the Cache Partition, be sure to execute Repair Apps

... see how that works

This was happening anytime I watched any video of any kind in landscape mode. I wiped cache and so far it's all working fine now.
