When typing quick reply from notification, enter no longer sends

When a notification from a messaging app is available to respond to, the enter button no longer sends the message. instead it makes a paragraph which isn't what it was before. I'm not sure if this is by design or a bug, but I preferred how it was before.

It has always worked like that for me, ie, the return key inserts a newline
At the extreme right of the input field, there is a right arrow key (or "send" text as in screenshot), ie, the Send button, tap it to send (I use Google Messages)

yeah I know but before beta, the enter would send the message for me with any messaging app
