Fold & Flip PhonesJust received my new Z Fold 7 phone, and while it's pretty and thin, the cameras are huge and prevent the phone from lying flat or even close to flat. I would have rather had a bigger battery with a flat back. I'm transferring my stuff from the Z Fold 4, so I can't use it as of yet. I have two chargers from my old phone, and they charge the phone slowly because you can't lay it flat on the charger due to the cameras.
So far the transfer process has gone smoothly. I couldn't get the USB-C to USB-C cable to work with the data transfer and had to switch to WiFi, which is slow when you have 120 Gb to transfer.

Fold & Flip PhonesDue to the advances in camera hardware, it's likely the camera lenses will never be flush with the phone casing ever again. So, do you want an excellent camera or for your phone to lie flat? Do you want a thicker phone so that the lenses can be contained internally, or lighter and slimmer? Most cases compensate for the lens protrusion although, admittedly, I don't know much about cases for the folds. If you put one of those gripper thingies on it or use a ring stand, you wouldn't have that issue.

Fold & Flip PhonesUpdate - I boxed up my Z Fold 7 and returned it.
Why? - I just found out that the Z Fold 8 will be coming out in July 26, and my $2K phone will be last year's model in a couple of months, even after it just came out in February 26. It would have been nice if I'd been given the choice to upgrade now or wait two months for the new version. No sooner did I receive my phone then the articles on the new version started popping up.
My wife keeps telling me to switch to an iPhone like hers, and it has me ticked and seriously considering abandoning Samsung after close to twenty years.
