When using the Samsung email app, continue to get a file too large message. This is for anything later than 8MB???. Found in Reddit the same comment but no replies. Anyone knows how to deal with this??

The download/upload limits are set by your email provider.  Most I have seen only allow attachments (of any kind) less than 5mb.

The limits are not by provider. Gmail has a limit on Send Only at 25MB. Other email applications have also similar limits ,but on receiving limits are even higher. After testing several apps the difference between Samsung Mail app is 5x-6x less in MB file size, which is absurd for a "business" type phone.

If a limit is set on send, there is a limit on receipt. You will not know this limit necessarily, as you have no control over what is sent. The sender will either get a message that the file size us to latge or the attachment just won't send. Again, this is not a limitation set by Samsung or the mail reader apps. You would have the same limits on a computer. The limitation is set by the mail provder to keep their servers from getting bogged down. Do you think server space and bandwidth is infinite? Use a link/file sharing service for large attachments.

Hello userZSF2g2qqIb, Welcome and thank you for being part of the Community. We understand the frustrations of trying to download files in the email app.

For concerns with the email app, you can try the following:

1. Clear app cache/data. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10001372/

2. Uninstall, then re-install the app.

3. Try another email app.

We also recommend submitting feedback to Samsung. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692

Many if not all email services have a file size limit you would need to do a file share link
