Fold & Flip PhonesHello, Welcome to the Community. We understand how frustrating it is for the screen to jump and the keyboard to enter incorrect or extra letters when trying to text.
For the screen jumping, try clearing the cache partition and repairing apps in the recovery menu.
To get to recovery mode:
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears
- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET)
- Use power button to select.
- Run the repair apps option and your device will restart.
We do have an article with several steps to troubleshoot the keyboard. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01209532/
We also recommend clearing the app cache for the Messages app. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00077611/
Also, try testing with a different keyboard such as Gboard or Microsoft Swiftkey.
If you continue to experience these symptoms, we recommend submitting an error report by opening the Settings in the Messages app immediately after this occurs and selecting the Contact Us option. Then select the Error Report option.
Lastly, if symptoms continue, try backing up the phone and doing a factory reset. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062029/
If the troubleshooting is not successful, we recommend having the phone evaluated at an authorized service center. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.
