Fold 6 intermittent problems with wifi calling

About 25% of the time, my Fold 6 doesn't ring when someone calls, it just goes straight to vmail. I have a weak cell signal and a very strong wifi signal in my house so I have wifi calling enabled. Verizon is trying to get me to buy a network extender but spending another $250 seems ridiculous. Anyone have any ideas?

In wi-fi calling settings, have you enabled wi-fi preferred? It should automatically be on wi-fi calling when you are in an area with a weak signal.   You do not need a network extender.  If connected to your wi-fi network, turn on Airplane mode and keep your wi-fi and BT connections active. This will force your phone to remain on wi-fi calling. You can create a routine or a mode to automate the process, or  you can just manually turn on airplane mode when you are home. After the first time you turn airplane mode on with wi-fi and BT on, it will remember that for subsequent activations.

@realaud Thanks for this! I was able to make a routine to go into airplane mode when I'm home, but I can't figure out a way to make airplane mode automatically turn off when I leave the house. Any ideas on that?

If you made a routine to turn on airplane mode in the house, the mode should revert automatically when you are no longer home. Check the 'when routine ends" it should say "return to status before routine ran" after each action that was set to start. If it does not, you can change it to do that or you can just reverse all the actions you set. Can you screen shot your routine?

Thanks! I can't figure out how to do a screen shot, but the "When routine ends" section has "Airplane mode: Return to status before routine ran". When I leave the house, that doesn't happen. I have to manually turn off airplane mode. Can you think of a way to fix that?

Yes, go into that section, when routine ends, and tap airplane mode and select custom action, off.

I did that but airplane mode doesn't turn off when I leave my house. Is there another solution you can think of?

I think the solution would be to figure out why Airplane mode does not get turned off when programmed to.  Are you looking at it the instant you leave your house, or some time later?  In your driveway you may still actually be connected to your wi-fi and it may take a minute or two to disengage. I've never had a routine that didn't end properly the way I set it.  There may be something else interfering.  You might try setting it as mode, rather than a routine, and see if that changes anything.  Let me play with some stuff and I'll get back to you.

So, i just configured and ran the routine in my phone and both on and off worked perfectly. If you can't upload a screenshot of your routine, tell me which parameters you set. To upload a screenshot, if you are using the app, tap the + next to the text entry box and select your photo.
