Fold & Flip PhonesAbout 25% of the time, my Fold 6 doesn't ring when someone calls, it just goes straight to vmail. I have a weak cell signal and a very strong wifi signal in my house so I have wifi calling enabled. Verizon is trying to get me to buy a network extender but spending another $250 seems ridiculous. Anyone have any ideas?

Fold & Flip PhonesOK. I think your home address is the problem. Google maps does not have an accurate read on how big a house is, and is especially bad with apartment units. So, it may have the address correct when you are somewhere in the middle of your home. This is why I suggested you use when connected to your home's wi-fi. You can also expand or shrink the perimeter around your home. But your routine should read like this:
if: connected to wi-fi <network name>
Then: Keep phone unlocked
Airplane mode = on
Wi-fi = on
BT = on
When you are disconnected from your network, airplane mode should go off. However, you don't actually need to add the wi-fi on and BT on parameters to the routine if you have ever set airplane mode on and then turned on BT & Wi-Fi, as the phone remembers the last state the wi-fi & BT was in when airplane mode is on. Personally, my wi-fi and BT are always on, even in airplane mode. It won't hurt anything to keep those parameters in (it's just insurance that the wi-fi & BT will stay on). When the routine ends, if BT & wi-fi were already on before the routine started, it will stay on, only the airplane mode will end. If you use your home address, the perimeter is by default set at .1 mile (about 1680 ft. radius) which should encompass your whole property (unless you are in an apartment or have a multi story home, then Google can't calculate), and your routine won't end until you are out of that range even if you are disconnected from your wi-fi network. At least one of the "if" conditions has to be true for the routine to run, and all of them have to be false, to end.

Fold & Flip PhonesI think I've got a bigger issue. The reason I did this was because cell service is spotty at my house (many calls would go right to vmail), so I was told to set my phone to airplane mode and set wifi calling's roaming preference to "Wifi preferred" so all my calls would be wifi calls. I did that for a week or so and got a lot of calls, but noticed that my vmail notifier wasn't working. I manually called my vmail and there were almost a dozen calls there that I never got and that never registered on my "inbound call" list. So now I'm back to needing to solve my original problem 😞 Unfortunately, that means your elegant and well-thought out solution isn't going to apply.

Fold & Flip PhonesThat may be more of an issue with your voicemail than the wi-fi calling. When I have wi-fi calling on (which is all the time, so whenever I'm on *any* wi-fi it just switches to wi-fi calling), I get all my voicemail notifications and all calls show up in my call log. Also, understand that some telemarketers (and, notoriously, carriers advertising their wares) have dialers that, sneakily, go directly to your voicemailbox without your phone ringing or registering in your call log. Were all your vm calls real people or junk calls? In any case, all voicemail issues are carrier issues. You should have gotten a normal VM notification. If you are not getting voicemail notifications of any kind, your voicemailbox is not sending the signal to the phone to register that there is a voicemail. Call your carrier and ask them to reset your mailbox.
If you haven't already, I suggest you factory reset your phone. This may solve the automatic switching to wi-fi calling issue and any other issues you may currently be having. It may or may not solve the voicemail notification issue if it's a carrier thing. Do you get voicemail notifications when you are on mobile? If not, it's a carrier issue.

Fold & Flip PhonesYes, spam calls going directly to vmail would be welcomed! But it's calls from real people where my phone doesn't ring because of lack of cell coverage that caused me to go to the wifi/airplane mode solution. But that solution is also not connecting all calls to my phone. And that solution also prevents me from being notified when I have a vmail because the vmail service requires access to the cell network. So I'm back to where I started: cell service at my house isn't good enough to get all calls delivered to my phone and since I work from home it's where I spend 95% of my day.

Fold & Flip PhonesFrankly, I think they are two different issues, as wi-fi calling has no bearing on whether your mailbox is signaling your phone that there are messages. Even if that it was the case that it's because of the spotty signal, as soon as you hit a cell tower, you would get notifications. The lack of notification is a carrier issue. The phone not going into wi-fi calling mode automatically is a phone issue. At this point, you are probably best served by doing a factory reset of the phone,
As I said, I am practically on wi-fi calling all the time (except when there is no wi-fi network to connect to) and I have never failed to be notified of voicemail or have the calls show up in my log (except for the aforementioned "invisible" calls).

Fold & Flip PhonesOK, I'll take your advice.
I understand if you don't know the answer, but is there a way to downlist a list of ways I've configured my phone since it came from the factory? I'd hate to have to do all the tweaks all over again by going through every menu. Would prefer to just do the ones that I have now (other than those that might affect call reception and vmail, of course).

Fold & Flip PhonesIf you reset your phone you will get a complete new operating system that was not overlaid/integrated with your previous system. Your phone should be automatically backing up every night to the Samsung Cloud. Restoring your backup will restore your apps, settings, messages, contacts, notes and photos (if you were backing up to Google photos). if something in the update has caused interference with your wi-fi calling and cellular signal, this should clear it out. It is unlikely the defect will replicate itself by restoring the backup, as the operating system is never saved with a backup, so it won't be re-downloaded. You can check to make sure you have a current backup by going to settings/accounts and backup, tapping on restore data (no data gets restored unless you choose and confirm) and see if there is a backup and the date it last backed up. If you have other data on your phone that does not automatically get backed up, you might want to make a Smart Switch backup to a flash drive or to Samsung's temporary cloud storage. Once you confirm you have a current backup, do the factory reset and then restore your backup. Your phone will be exactly the same configuration as you had it without any fuss.
