Thank you for reaching out. I can certainly understand wanting to mute specific contacts without blocking them. In order to better assist you, are you not wanting the notifications to come through or just come through on silent?
There are several options. You can create a routine whereby if you get a text or call from a contact you want to ignore it will mute the notification. You can also turn on do not disturb and allow all contacts through except that one. Just FYI, if you block a contact (they don't know they are blocked), it sends all their calls to voicemail and, if you are using Google messages, it will send the messages to the spam folder if you set it up. You will, however still get the calls and messages, just no notifications. You can also set the contact ringtone and messages notification sound to "silent".
