My Galaxy Flip 5 seems to get warm when I am working outside while it is in my pocket. First the screen went crazy and it was opening all of the apps and typing things, sending messages, etc. I did a system reset and it seemed to ok until I plugged it into my truck charger the other day. It did the weird screen spaz thing again, but when I restarted it all was good. Today it was warm outside, my phone stays in my pocket while I work. Today the battery seemed to get low more quickly then usual then my phone started to randomly shut down. I plugged it in the charger in the AC because it went down to 15%. I unplugged it when it got up to 45% and went to use it and it shut off 3 separate times. I plugged it back in later and right now it is working but I am in the house. This is a very new issue and I work outside and need my phone. I just cleared the cache partician too. Anything else that I can do?????

Hello, We understand the concern with the phone getting and randomly shutting down.

Whether you're using a phone, tablet, smartwatch, or earbuds, all Galaxy devices have a set temperature range, where they operate at their best. While they may feel warm under certain conditions, like charging, this does not affect the device's lifespan or performance. However, if your devices get too warm, it could cause some issues. Give this link a try: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00076952/ You can also try clearing the cache partition of the phone.

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key, then press and hold the Side key.
  3. When the green Android logo displays, release all keys ('Installing system update' will show for about 30 - 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options).
  4. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  5. Press Side key to select.
  6. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Side key to select.
  7. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  8. Press the Side key to restart the device.

Some steps to try for the phone shutting down include the following: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshoot/TSG10001531/

We also recommend running the diagnostics in the Members app under the Support tab. There is a feedback option under this tab to provide the information to Samsung.

If your phone is getting too warm to touch, repairs would be recommended in order to have the technicians evaluate the device. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair:  https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/ or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.

Contact the provider that you got the phone in. Most likely a internal problem.
