I have always loved Samsung support and their devices. One ui 7.0 has rendered my phone unusable. 20 second unlock times, inability to call or receive calls, and service drops without me knowing until I restart.

My wife's s24 is affected but not as bad.

Samsung support won't acknowledge the issue even though my symptoms are exactly what everyone else is experiencing. I wasted 2 weeks with support; resetting, deleting cache, deleting everything I installed since I noticed issues, full reset, etc- they won't acknowledge the software issue, rather they sent me to an asurion based ubreakifix (assurion is the leading "try to deny all claims insurance company") who deemed my phone out of warrant y based on a pinprick on the case that is literally less than 1mm dot. Insanity.

Assurion says my inner screen is the problem which it clearly is not, refuses to read anything about the software issue, and I deploy in 2 weeks to where I won't have internet 90% of the time, so getting an update to make the phone work is unlikely for 7 months.

What the heck can I do? This phone is literally unusable due to Samsungs update and is in perfect condition though the idiots at assurion are trying to win an award for denying the most claims.

Cache partition cleared multiple times, full data wipe performed twice. Problems exist even on a stock phone that I didn't restore my data to

Put in an error report. Factory reset your phone and network settings. Then, you can either restore your backup or start from scratch. Since the backup only restores your apps , settings and certain data, it is unlikely whatever issue you are having will return if it was caused by the update. If you still have issues with calling, that would be on your carrier, since they are responsible for all things call related and for tweaking and pushing out the update. So, it may very well be something they did while making their adjustments.

Hello pbguy420, Welcome to the Community. We understand the concern with the phone no longer working correctly.

Unfortunately, if you have tried all the troubleshooting and a technician has diagnosed that the phone needs repairs, it is doubtful there is anything other members can help with. We recommend trying to have the phone repaired. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S.: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by calling customer support at 1-800-726-7864.

If you have insurance on the phone, you may be able to speak with them regarding a replacement.

Has anyone gotten anywhere with this? My phone is still unusable and Ibreakufix days it's out of warranty and it's a screen issue!! It's clearly not a screen issue because it works fine for about 5 min after power up and then starts glitching with all the symptoms of Samsung update

You think it's not a screen issue because your screen momentarily turns on?  Do you know more than the technicians?  Did you put in an error report?  What kind of symptoms does a Samsung update have?  I've never had any "symptoms" of any update and I'm curious as to what they would be.

I never said the screen momentarily turns on. The screen works perfectly well when it's on. The issue is twofold; screen unlock lag that starts about 5-20min after resetting it or clearing cache. The side button press will not unlock the screen for 20-40 seconds after being pressed, once the screen is on it works perfectly. The unlock also makes haptic feedback immediately even though the screen is unlocked. This is software, not hardware. Issue 2 is the phone will randomly think it's engaged in a call, not allowing you to place a call because a call is in progress, even though there is not one. This issue presents even after a full factory reset.

Yes, as an electrical engineer I think I know more than a 19 year old technician who held the phone in his hand for less than 1 minute and told me it was a screen issue without even running the built in diagnostics (which all passed fine, including the screen, when I tested them). The screen functions perfectly. I am using it now, however, since the phone has been on for about 20 min, if I was to lock the screen and unlock it,it would take over 40 seconds to unlock the screen.

Below is a summary of these issues-

. “Multiple calls in progress” glitch

Some Galaxy S‑series users report being notified of "multiple calls in progress," even when only one call is active—causing confusion and sometimes masking incoming calls. This appears to be a bug in the phone app introduced by the latest firmware, and Samsung has yet to address it formally (reported across forums and Reddit threads shortly after the May security patch).

---

:three_o_clock: 2. Screen unlock delays

After unlocking via the power button or fingerprint, the display often lingers on the Always‑On Display for 20–30 seconds before fully lighting up—leaving users staring at a locked screen despite authentication. This delay persists even after factory resets, safe mode, resolution tweaks, and clearing UI settings, pointing to a software-level issue in One UI 7.0 .

---

:satellite_antenna: 3. Network connectivity issues

Following the update, many users have experienced unstable Wi‑Fi and mobile data connections. Frequently, the phone briefly connects—but then drops signal entirely for 20–30 minutes before restoring, despite other devices on the same network working normally. This has made streaming, browsing, and calls unreliable .

Again, what makes you think you know more than the technician? Just because your screen goes on at times, still does not mean thete isn't an issue with rhe svreen that is causing other issues.
