Samsung Cloud backup..

Since samsung or Verizon no longer use backup data to send to cloud, what is everyone using instead?

Verizon disables it. I use smart switch on a PC or laptop. You can however still access and backup to Samsung Cloud with an activity launcher, but more updates seem to lock more of these 'activities' so it might not work soon. I've been doing this since I had my S9 on Verizon.

As a reminder, support for music and document backups will end on July 3, 2023, after which such backups will be deleted. See my other post for more info.

In fact, for Music and Documents, Samsung is about to delete all backed up music and sdcuments from the cloud. See below for more info.

With notice on September 2, 2020 and following the termination of the Music/Documents backup feature implemented on September 14, 2020, Samsung Cloud's Music/Documents restoration feature will be discontinued as of July 3, 2023. After that, Music/Documents data stored in Samsung Cloud will be permanently deleted, so please download any data you have stored in advance.
* The Music/Documents backup feature, which had temporarily backed up data due to no updates in the old Samsung Cloud app (the app versions released before September 14, 2020) was also discontinued as of March 21, 2023, based on existing notices. If you are using the old app, you may see an error message during while backing up.

You will be able to download your music and documents starting later this month until July 3, 2023 at 12 AM UTC (8 PM EDT/5 PM PDT).

I use my own computer. I don't trust keeping my stuff on other people's computers.

You can use Verizon cloud app if you are on Verizon it backs up everything. Also, Google backup. And I use one drive as well
