I dont understand the reason for this... the customization on Google messages is terrible compared to Samsung; therefore, I would like to use Samsung Messages. I bought a Samsung phone for the customization features. And now you're taking that away? Please communicate with Google to make the customization the same as Samsung Messages (like we've been asking) because it's starting to feel like Samsung is abandoning their customers...

Any basic SMS app is compatible with the iPhone just as well.
It's quite sad that some people find "reaction emoji" more important than either basic functionality or privacy.
Just how often do you need to "like" an OTP code from your bank?

Samsung has no plans on doing away with their own gallery app.

They have been planning the switch for 4 years and have been working on Google Messages for a while , they only did it because Samsung users needed a way to securely communicate with iPhone users and their app was lacking a lot of stuff and couldn't be updated with it and couldn't be made to support iPhone Message encryption their own messages app did have RCS at one point in the past but it didn't work with iPhone the messages were only encrypted between Samsung users so the company had to do something about it which is why they partnered with Google.

And there's nothing stopping them from just abandoning the other Samsung apps. It's a slippery slope. They can always come up with some excuse....
If a company sees they can just axe basic features and outsource it to a third party, then they will just outsource. The company is not going to bother to invest in making, updating, and supporting apps anymore.
We will lose the basic phone calling app, calendar, gallery, everything will just be google

Nothing ever stopped them from abandoning their other apps.  There are also no laws against it.  It's their software, they can do what they want.  You agreed to the Terms of Service and EULA.  Nowhere does it say in there that they owe users the same software forever.  It does, however, say they can change, modify, introduce or discontinue their software.

I am really **bleep** about the Samsung messaging app being discontinued. I purchased a Samsung device for and so I could use Samsung features if I wanted Google Messaging I would have bought a Google phone
Samsung is upsetting a lot of customers with this

Am I going to have to pay to use Google Messages since my Google has no space to even do anything?

But Samsung has its app store in addition to and has features that come only with Samsung phones, that's the point. We all know we have android phones we are not stupid. But Samsung has features that are only on their phones.
