Why take away Samsung Messages?!

I dont understand the reason for this... the customization on Google messages is terrible compared to Samsung; therefore, I would like to use Samsung Messages. I bought a Samsung phone for the customization features. And now you're taking that away? Please communicate with Google to make the customization the same as Samsung Messages (like we've been asking) because it's starting to feel like Samsung is abandoning their customers...

The RCS capabilities of Samsung Messaging relies on the carrier supporting RCS, not the app. Kind of like the iPhone. If the carrier decides to stop supporting Jibe RCS on their end, then even if the app supports it, it will stop.

Google Messages has the API to use their own Jibe servers so it doesn't need to rely on the carrier.

This is probably the carriers passing the burden of Android RCS to Google and only supporting the ones for the iPhone instead of supporting 2 implementations.

What other information would you need. Samsung made a decision.  It is very, very unlikely (but not impossible) they will backtrack on it, no matter how many complaints they get, as they  have been attempting to wean people off the app for 3 years.  You see the same statements on many of the posts because, evidently, none of you are getting the message for why this is happening.  You don't have to understand or like the reason, but the fact of the matter is Samsung decided to end the app and they own the software and can do whatever they choose to with it. And, they chose to end it.
