Fold & Flip PhonesI have been having a really frustrating experience with tech support.
My Z Flip 5 inner screen is damaged at the hinge point, rendering the phone unusable.
There is a 200$ inner screen repair promotion here (which I qualify for): https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/z-screen-repair-promo/
For reference, I registered the phone in September of 2023 when I bought it.
The link on that page directs me to the support page (https://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/). I followed the instructions and set up a repair on that page with a local Samsung repair site (UBreakIFix). When I take my phone to them they only see an "appointment" and not a "work order". Therefore, they are unable to apply the promo and fix the phone.
I have spoken to maybe 15 different tech support agents. I bounced back and forth between agents for 6 hours yesterday, mostly listening to hold music while they check things. At least 3 agents have just put me on hold and then hung up. One of them told me the offer expired (which it hasn't). Another told me the device isn't registered (it is). Another told me that the basic appointment ticket generated by the repair form would suffice for the UBreakIFix (it does not). I have asked to speak to a supervisor, and they told me the supervisor was busy and would call me back (they did not).
Is this how Samsung is? What am I supposed to do?

Fold & Flip PhonesI have owned every single one of the Galaxy z flips. I owned the first one and I owned the Galaxy z flip 5G and the three and the four and the five and the six.
The phone has finally become excellent and the screen no longer has problems on the version 6.
However all the other versions the screen will always crack in the middle or a majority of the time.
I was in an actual Samsung experience store and I think I paid $19 to have the screen protector replaced once or it was free and the next time it was going to be $19. I don't remember.
However I'm going down a totally different path with you. You're totally right to be frustrated and to be honest with you if you get it fixed it's going to happen again. My best bet would be if it's worth it to get it fixed and then sell it. Once you get the Galaxy z flip 6 you shouldn't have a problem. I have one of them and my friend has two and we've had them both for a year and there's not a single sign of wear on the screens. Plus I know the new ones have a really cheap deal to change the screen protector once.
I know this doesn't exactly help you but just realize that if you get out of that particular model as frustrating as it is and going to the newer model you shouldn't have this problem anymore.
