Fold & Flip Phones
Been browsing a bunch of different forums to see if anyone's reported this. Seems like some people, including myself, have had issues with the fingerprint scanner (on the side) recognizing fingerprints. I've done everything short of a full reset but wanted to know if anyone has any solutions of their own.

Fold & Flip Phones
A few weeks ago after the security update my fingerprint scanner stopped working. I called the diagnosis number and all of the sensors on it are active. Have tried adding a new fingerprint, changing the fingerprint scan to always be on, and reset my phone. I'm trying to avoid doing a factory reset, anyone have this issue and found a solution?

Try wiping the "cache partition" to see if that helps. It's safe and won't remove your settings or app files. Clearing the "cache partition" can help resolve any issues caused by old or corrupted system cache data.
This procedure is recommended after receiving updates to help your device stay running smoothly.
Follow the steps below,
Clear the cache partition
- Turn the phone off (shut down)
- Press and hold the Volume Up key, then press and hold the side key.
- When the Android system recovery menu options show release buttons.
- Press the volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
- Press the side key to select.
- Press the volume down key to highlight yes, then press the side key to select.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system is now highlighted.
- Press the side key to restart the device.

I also experienced this issue. My fingerprint sensor stopped working after ui 8. I have tried several fixes including turning the sensor to be always on and clearing my cache as suggested above.

Same problem. Works sporadically.
