Hi,

I have a zfold6 that has all of the sudden started displaying '1 more emails' notification when I receive a new email. How do I revert it back to actually showing me the details of the email in the notification instead of it just displaying '1 more emails'? It does the same when I receive more than 1 email ('2 more emails', '3 more emails' etc).

I found the problem! I had too many email addresses listed in the email app. Removing them fixed the issue.

Is this only when you're phone is locked or even in the notification panel?

Both.

Hmm. As far as I know, One UI only provides that option for notifications in the lock screen (I don't remember if this was before or after the upgrade). So it might be your email app doing this.

In any case, hold-click the email icon from either the home screen or app screen, click the circled "i" on the top-right of the pop-up menu, click on Notifications, and see if there's any setting(s) to show or hide contents.

Hi Pete. I've been through it with a fine tooth comb. Unfortunately no settings to change its behaviour.

Sorry to hear that, and I can't think of anything else much. I still think it's your email app (a change in an update) Since the One UI only provides the feature for the lock screen, it is likely provided for security issues. You might take a look in the "Security and privacy" section of your phone Settings, and see if there is something there for either your email or notifications.

As a last "double check" effort, go again into your email's notifications settings via the circled "i", but this time click "Notification categories", then "Email" (not the on/off switch, but the label), and see if there is anything having to do with the lock screen or notification panel, etc. Mines has a "Lock screen" setting with options to either "hide contents" or "don't show notifications".

The only other thing i can suggest, if you're up for it, is to go to the store you bought your phone and ask if they know what to do. I'm a customer of T-Mobile, and the staff there is willing to help with things like that; after all, you can't expect all new buyers to know to figure out how to use such a feature chocked product.
