Galaxy BudsIssue Summary:
The right earbud loses charge while sitting idle in the case, even when the case has battery.
The left earbud behaves normally and retains charge.
The case does not appear to charge the right bud automatically, unless I manually remove and reinsert it.
After reseating, the case recognizes the right bud is not at 100% and starts charging it.
I tested by placing both buds in the case at ~77% with the case at 1% — after 4 hours:
Left bud dropped to 74%
Right bud dropped drastically to 56%
After fully charging everything overnight (buds and case to 100%) and unplugging in the morning:
8.5 hours later, buds still showed 100%, case at 96%
So it works intermittently, but the problem recurs
Things I’ve Tried:
Cleaning the contacts
Full drain and recharge of case + buds
Firmware is up to date
Resetting via Galaxy Wearable app
Case and right bud physically appear fine

Galaxy BudsHello, Welcome to the Community. We understand the concern with the right bud draining the battery while in the charging cradle.
Here are some steps that may help:
- Use the included charging cable and connect to a USB charger
- Check to be sure the case is charging correctly
- Verify there is no debris in the charging cradle pin connectors
- Check to be sure there is no debris in the charging connect on the Galaxy Buds
- Check the Wear app to determine if one bud is not charging and check the bud is fully inside the charging case
You can also try resetting the Buds. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01218103/
If there is still a concern with the bud battery draining, it is recommended to have them evaluated by a certified technician. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the evaluation: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/location or by contacting customer support at 1-800-726-7864.

Issue:
The right Galaxy Buds 2 Pro earbud was draining battery while in the case, even when the case had charge. It wouldn’t recharge unless I removed and reinserted it.
I tried all common troubleshooting steps: reset, cleaning contacts, firmware update — I even tried gently bridging the charging contacts in the case (as seen in other posts), but that didn’t help.
What Helped in My Case:
I let the charging case drain down to 1% with the buds inside (it wouldn’t go all the way to 0%), then charged everything back to 100% overnight.
It’s been about a week since, and the issue hasn’t returned:
-
No unexpected battery drain
-
Both earbuds charge correctly
-
Case behavior is normal
It seems the low battery state may have reset the charging logic in a way the software reset didn’t.
