My Galaxy Buds 4 Pro have finally arrived, and earlier than expected! Right off the back, the case has a nice heft to it, and maybe a bit less grippy than the Buds 2 Pro.

Once they are charged up, I hope theres a noticeable difference/ improvements from the Buds 2 Pro (which I currently use). I'll update once I had some time to play around with them, and listen to some 90s tunes through them.

Alright, after a few hours with the buds, this is what I have so far:

Fit: Ear Tips are DEFINITELY difficult to pull off, however, they did not break off in my many attempts to pull them off. I found if you are to pull them off, pull them with your thumb on the same linear plane as the glossy block dot on each earbud. That appears to be where the ear bud tips "notch" is located at, which locks / unlocks them in place. The tips feel comfortable to the point where I donโ€™t realize that I'm wearing anything in my ear. They also do not feel like they will fall out of my ear, even after some aggressing head banging. I'm still getting used to not putting a "bean" shaped ear bud in my ears, however, ingress and egress of the buds is a lot easier due to the steps on each earbud to grab.

Battery Life: I'm still trying to get a grasp on them; however, I would imagine they would last longer than 2-year-old Buds 2 Pro (due to battery degradation). For reference, I turned on the following (which may impact battery life)

Pinch Controls

Call Controls

Voice Controls (Hi Bixby, I can't wait to try you out on One UI 8.5 on my S25 Ultra)

Voice Commands (Until One UI 8.5 comes to the S25 series, I'll be using this until the head nod gestures become available)

Balanced Equalizer

Loudness Normalization

Adjust sound to fit

Super wide band speech

Adapt sound

Sound: These are notably better in audio quality than the Buds 2 Pro. More Bass, clearer vocals, and It's easier to differentiate between the different instruments in songs. For reference, the volume slider on the S25 Ultra has "12 levels" (AKA, you can click the volume up/down button 12 times before reaching the min/max volume).  I typically keep the volume level on either 2 - 3.

Noise Cancelling: I would say these block sound out better than the Buds 2 Pro, however, there's more "hissing" present in the adaptive sound profile. More testing is needed on this in different environments.

Controls: I actually have to apply more pressure to the stems than I thought for the touch zone to register my physical touches. This might just be me not used to being overly aggressive with my tech. However, I like the fact that I can now adjust my ear bud in my ear, without accidently triggering the touch area, like on the buds 2 pro.

I'll continue playing around with them over the week and hopefully, will have another follow-up.

Great review, thanks! I'm supposed to get mine tomorrow. One thing you mentioned that I had not read, that the head gestures are only on 8.5? I didn't know that. Personally, I like the voice controls on my buds 3 pro, they work flawlessly.

In my testing, the voice controls work very well. I may end up keeping that feature enabled.

I searched through all of the menus in the configuration of the Buds and realized head gestures were not present in the one u.i. 8.0 version of the Buds app for the Buds Pro 4.
I was hoping to find some literature on samsung's website for this, but nothing was available yet. I presume they'll be published once March 11th comes around (their retail release date).

Yeah, I hadn't read that, honestly, I think If I were out in public, I'd rather say, answer call, or reject call then shaking my head, I feel that could look really weird!
