Updated to r170xxu0atd2 yesterday.
Touchpad is no longer working at all for me for both left and right buds.
Connection keeps dropping after this update as well.
Samsung Support ... Any way to go back to previous version of firmware??
The buds are almost useless after this new r170xxu0atd2 update!!

New firmware update from r170xxu0atd2 to r170xxu0atd3 solved the issue for me.
Hopefully Samsung spends more time in quality control for firmware updates next time so customers will not face such issues.
Looks like an update to the Gear Wearable app was pushed, which fixes this issue. Just updated and confirmed is now working.
Galaxy Wearable version 18.104.22.16831361
Galaxy Buds Plugin version 1.4.20042451
@B0bby there is a setting in the wearable app under touch pad to lock the touch pad. Make sure that is off and the touch pad should be working again. When I turned this on my touch pads stopped responding. As far as disconnecting perhaps you could try resetting your buds.
Yes the setting is off ... I have also tried toggling the setting to on and off to see if the touch pad will respond at all.
Unfortunately, the issues still persist with the new update r170xxu0atd2.
Man, before this update I have never experienced any issues for last 6 months with these buds.
Need a new firmware update to fix this issue, or if Samsung support could help me to downgrade back to the older firmware it will be great.
I have the exact same issues . Tried everything . Sometimes the right bud responds then cuts out when moving my head . Left touchpad does nothing . Worked perfect before the update !
