Idk how to describe this but every time I open my inner screen on my z fold 3, fingerprint ID and face unlock work and screen unlocks. But then it locks itself again and turns off the screen, after which fingerprint and face unlock will no longer work until you fold it back and use the front screen. Edge panels also fails too and I have to turn it off and on just to get it to function. I've been waiting a while for Android 13 and now I don't even want it. Will there be a patch soon to fix this annoying issue?

Try rebooting into recovery mode, clearing the cache, and then running the repair apps option. Your phone will restart after. Test it out. LMK if this helps! GL!

Tried safe mode, problem persists. Idk what happened but the update caused this issue. Screen now randomly shuts off until Iocked again or if I flip it to portrait mode.

Have not tried safe mode but the story gets even weirder. Fingerprint, face unlock, and the panels work on the inner screen but only in landscape mode, not in portrait. If I turn it portrait it will automatically lock the screen again and ask for a pin.

Have you tried a factory reset?

I mean at this point that's the only other option no?

From what I can see, yes. If that doesn't work, then contacting Samsung or an authorized repair shop will be necessary.

This advice is given frequently, but is somewhat outdated. I would recommend looking at other replies to get the help you need.
