Idk how to describe this but every time I open my inner screen on my z fold 3, fingerprint ID and face unlock work and screen unlocks. But then it locks itself again and turns off the screen, after which fingerprint and face unlock will no longer work until you fold it back and use the front screen. Edge panels also fails too and I have to turn it off and on just to get it to function. I've been waiting a while for Android 13 and now I don't even want it. Will there be a patch soon to fix this annoying issue?

Well on the bright side, after following the steps in your post, my Fold 4 stopped freezing when I opened to the tablet screen. But it also stopped recognizing that I opened to the tablet screen altogether. Just keeps doing whatever on the small front screen even when opened.

I did a full factory reset and the problem persists. I took it to a Samsung expert and they said they have no idea what is even going on. I was told to wait for an update to Android 13.

This is very similar to a problem I'm having! I wondered if it was the updates that have done it and it seems so. I'm sorry to hear about your issue, but it proves its not just my device.

Also realized today that the lock screen doesn't change orientation like it used to as well. I'm so ready for the next patch, this is all stuff I could've reported if beta was opened up for z fold 3 on Verizon 🙄

Same issue here and I've had my fold 3 for about a year without ever having these issues. It's completely unpredictable too, sometimes I can use the inner screen for a bit, other times it'll lock itself 10 times in a row. Happened after update
