Trying to get a consensus and help here. My z fold 4 has started having issues after the oneui5.1 was forcefully loaded on my phone even thou I told it to not do software update, as I was out of town with no solid wifi.

So now here is what I am experiencing on a phone that is under a year old.

1. Phone crashes and both screens go black and unresponsive when I unfold the phone. Not eveytime but getting more frequent. Also have heard terrible static from the speakers when this happens, but not everytime.
-Have to do the power + volume down to reboot it.

2. Normal phone speaker stopped working, and I have to use speaker phone to make a call.
-Took several reboots and soft restarts to get the phone speaker back working, but won't know if it's not working till I make a call. All other audio playback has seemingly worked fine.

3. Battery life is dropping quickly, I even setup the phone to only charge to 85% when I first got the phone.

4. If phone dosent crash when unfold it and I try to launch an app it will sometimes go black and unresponsive too.

I am going to try to clear cache, but will wait for a few to chime in before I do.

Hope more can chime in and narrow down the issues with this update.

Hello, Welcome to the Community. We understand how disappointing it is when your phone is not working correctly. There are some troubleshooting steps that may help.

1. Dark, unresponsive screen(s): https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001470/

2. Speaker not working: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01001255/

3. Battery Drain: https://www.asurion.com/connect/tech-tips/5-ways-to-minimize-android-battery-drain/

An additional troubleshooting step we recommend is clearing the cache partition of the phone and repairing apps in the recovery menu.

To get to recovery mode:
- Turn off phone
- Once off, hold down volume up and power buttons simultaneously
- When Samsung logo appears, release power button BUT KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP until the recovery menu appears
- Use volume buttons to navigate down to clear cache (NOT CLEAR DATA/ FACTORY RESET)
- Use power button to select.
- Run the repair apps option and your device will restart.
If you have completed all of these steps, including a factory reset, and are still experiencing these concerns, we recommend having the phone evaluated by an authorized technician. You can use the following link to find a list of service centers in the U.S. that can do the repair: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/
