Stuck in phone call mode after 5.1.1

Everything was working perfectly fine, after I updated my phone to 5.1.1, every single phone call, my phone will no longer play audio into my Bluetooth headphones or off phone speakers, only through the call speakers, I have tried switching to Google call app, I reset network settings, I reset my Bluetooth headset settings, it only fixes after I either restart phone which is annoying, or I clear the cache of the phone app, I'm not sure what else I can do to fix it without factory resetting my phone (fold 4)...

Clear the system cache

Turn off the device 

* Connect to a computer via USB

Press and hold Volume Up + Power buttons simultaneously till the device logo appears

When it logo appears, release Power button but hold the others few more seconds

Release all the buttons when Recovery Mode screen appears

You can use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to scroll up or down, and the Power button to select

Using the Vol Down rocker, select Wipe Cache Partition

Press the Power button to select 

Use the Vol Down button to select Repair Apps

Use the power button to select

Use the Vol Down button to select Restart

Use the power button to select

 

* Some devices need to be connected to a computer in order to enter the Recovery Mode.

I Was able to do that today, didn't fix the issue, I followed up with reseting all settings (not factory). I can't seem to figure out what is cause, any other ideas I can probably do before I attempt a factory reset with no hope it will fix?

Did you Reset Network Settings?  Those are no reset with All Settings.

Yes I did, didn't fix the issue, I'm newer to android but very techy, I honestly believe only way to fix would be reupdating or factory reset, any other ideas before I have to do that? Thank you for trying either way

One last thing.  Boot to Safe Mode and try the calls again.  The fact that rebooting and clearing the app cache fix it for some time make me think it's an app interfering with the calls. 

If Safe Mode doesn't resolve the issue, then a Factory Reset would be next.  First use Smart Switch to back up to your PC or Mac. and when you Factory Reset and set up the phone again, to not initially restore any backup. Test the phone and make sure it works.  Then you can restore which unfortunately may restore the problem and which will leave you with the chore of finding the bad app. 

What I generally recommend is to restore without backup and then to manually install your apps again testing after every few you reinstall to see if the problem comes back. 

 

Safe Mode

1. Pull down the top menu and press the Power icon so that the Power Off and Restart icons appear

2. Press and Hold the Power Off icon until the green Safe Mode icon appears

3. Tap the Safe Mode icon and the phone will reboot into Safe Mode 

4.  To exit Safe Mode,  just reboot. (you may have to take it off airplane mode when it restarts)

After a factory reset, problem still occurring, I honestly give up, i know it's software issue now, but going back to iphone, thanks for trying I really appreciate it 👍
