Galaxy FoldI have been a huge fan of the Note series and am currently on a Note20 5g Ultra. It was enough to get my wife to abandon Apple for an S21 and she has never looked back. A USP for us is the sdcard for extra storage something Apple does not do.
I am music mad and ripped all my cds 0.74TB using FLAC for maximum quality, 21,000+ tracks and use the Musicolet player which makes no Internet connections which is good for privacy and robust when out of signal range in the mountains and underground commute. This not possible without an sdcard. It leaves the inbuilt storage free for my business use with sync to the cloud to keep storage usage down. Secure and tidy.
My wife use her sdcard for training materials, videos and presentations and regularly presents with the s-pen and screen mirror to a large flat screen or projector. Again the sd card is crucial.
Worse a great friend uses hjs S21 for photos and video work because of the camera quality and sdcard which provides a really easy way to store and transfer large data to his specialist editing suite software.
So Samsung why damage the offering by dumping the sdcard? Streaming and cloud is not always suitable or convenient or available. It's a high end product, let the customer choose. I text chatted with an expert on the Samsung sales service and was told the Z fold 3 had an sdcard but I have checked and it does not. That stopped me mid purchase. Its not hard or expensive to have an sdcard and I will obviously have to look elsewhere.

Galaxy FoldThen Samsung wondered why their sales were poor.
I would not buy a foldable unless it has an SD card AND the best set of cameras for the year. This downgrading of the Fold 3 to an S+ lens setup (not the Ultra set of lenses) makes it particularly unsuitable to replace the Note series.

Galaxy FoldI took 2 hours of 8K video (135GB) and even at 4K (40+GB) it would be a long transfer. A micro SD card pops out and into the editing computer.

Galaxy Fold@Chameebling said: "I mean, microSD cards in phones are probably becoming obsolete, to make more room in the phone, like what they did with the headphone jack removal. "
I agree with the first part, about them becoming obsolete, but I never buy the "we need more room inside the phone" excuse. Note 20 (not the ultra) has a SIM card tray with space for a SD card, just no actual reader inside. It's not that. Let's be realistic, what they want is people paying for cloud storage (or just more for higher storage models). With the headphone jack, they needed to motivate people to buy wireless earbuds, although Samsung's strategy was always a bit confusing because they like to give them away for "free".
