Flowering broccoli

We didn't harvest all our heads before a small heat wave so broccoli bolted. In case someone didn't know all broccoli is just closed up flower buds when you're eating it 🙂

And if my memory hasn't failed me, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, and mustard are all related. In fact (according to my memory) the mustard plant is the base of which all the others are cultivars from.

Yup!

And cauliflower can often turn purple when grown in a lot of direct sunlight and minimal shade.
