Good day ,what a horror story this note issue has become ,after previously returning my first note 7 and then 48 hours later my second note 7 became bricked by at&t they would take neither back and I argued with Samsung and at&t for one month finally at&t would only give credit to account and no return money. I saw the new note 8 deal and went for it now im still getting issues over the note 7 deal and was charged $425 because they said return device credit it has been lost. warning Samsung will ass hammer anyone they can and get money anyway possible because of the justification loss in note 7. I hope someone out there has had a good experience with Samsung because my anus is sore

update the 4th time request information from Samsung they keep giving ticket numbers and the run around denying that they received anything or any information prior to this issue. this is a joke by Samsung Clowns note 7 into note 8 nightmare continues screw Samsung

UPDATE finally ! after weeks and months the note 7 into the 8 issue has been resolved by Samsung. a final value was refunded for the promotion of the note 8. unfortunately I honestly had to fight for it. I will thank the last representative I spoke to who actuly put the ticket into action thank you person in a cubicle getting paid minimum wage .

I am having the same problem, they are claiming they never receieved my note 7 that i sent back per the recall instructions and in the little shipping container they sent me.  Now I am getting screwed because I cant get the promotional credit that I was promised on this Note 8. I am about to get really loud with some media outlets if this doesnt get resolved soon!!!!

Such kind of issues can be faced by any phone. The easiest way to fix them is with Samsung Odin. However, you need to make sure that latest Samsung USB Drivers are installed on your phone before you can fully take advantage of Odin.

Perhaps I am missing something here, because I fail to see how installing Odin could have any impact on the problem, which was described in the original post that starts this thread. Please let me know if I've gotten something wrong:

 

The first post of this thread describes a customer's attempt to get a credit towards purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, by trading in an old Samsung Note 7. Even the following two or three comments are updates telling of delays and complications, with this process of trading an older phone in to get a discount on a newer model (and even a success update, when the credit was finally given by Samsung).

 

Odin is a software development tool which allows users to flash custom ROMs and stock firmware onto an Android device. I am at a loss as to what bearing this software development tool has on this specific issue, which is not related to any problem with any device software, whatsoever.
