28°C outside and I was shooting UHD(30 fps) video for 2,3 minutes, about 41°C on the the phone  with "Full battery Theft alarm app"

Playing PUBG 60fps with graphic lowest and frame rate ultra(same frame rate with the game launcher with balanced setup + display lowerst)30min. of playing game without case, 41°C.I have a alarm set to 41°C so I stop using the phone if reach.

Note 8 and S9 not seem to have difference between Note 9 temperature.

Is this normal and how far can the temparature can go on the Note 9?Around 40°C is ok to use the phone continuoustly??

Ok found the answer, it seems the cooling thing doesn't work on Note 9.

It does work according to the link. It ran better at sustained temperature compared to the note 8, s9+ and I phone X. Only phone that performed better was the one6, but the one6 failed the temp test while the note 9 did better. Honestly sounds like Samsung did better for safety sake rather than push performance over threshold

I think there is some confusion about Note9 and what it's cooling system does. From what I understand and from tests that I saw, it gets just as hot as S9 or Note8, but it continues to perform better at those temperatures. So when other phones start throttling at higher temps, the Note9 can actually continue to work quicker because it gets more heat away from the processor. In other words again, those phones' processors generate the same amount of heat, but Note9 does a better job getting that heat away from the processor. In fact it might actually feel like Note9 runs hotter because it's better at moving the heat out of the phone, and it goes into its case and into our hands.

In any case, the liquid cooling is a marketing nonsense as there is no actual liquid inside. Just like Apple's Liquid Retina screen, they all think they can just add the word "liquid" to anything to make sounds better than something that's not.

It seems to be a marketing gimmick -  I don't play games - but I notice my Note 9 gets almost uncomfortably hot - checking temp seeing 179F (81.7 C) when watching Netflix or Hulu.   This can't be good for battery life or internal components.

Never had this issue with my S8+ or S9+

Never dealt with a Company with such horrbile support that it takes Class Action Lawsuits to get them to repair or issue recalls on defective products - If the Note7 was'nt all over the news I bet we would see the same crappy "its not us its you, it  must be something you installed or did."

Are you sure you're not confusing them with Apple now? But seriously... what business is not operating like that? Of course they all going to try to pretend nothing is wrong and would prefer to handle issues on the case by case bases. It's not just business sense, they pretty much have to do that for their shareholders. Anyway...

Your phone does get way too hot I think, do you have a case on? I use a Samsung OEM case and I can feel the heat sometimes even with the case on, but I also wonder if that case is what's keeping a lot of that heat inside.

Are you sure 81.7 degree CELSIUS??Thats a dangerous temperature, you must stop using the phone.

Mine is around maximum of 42 degree in about hour of using the phone. I stop using the phone to reduce the heat so I do not know if its gonna go up higher or not.Its really depends on how you calaculate the temperature but that is way too high.

I can agree that it release the heat faster, but not sure I couldn't check with the other Galaxys.
