Galaxy Note PhonesHey party people. I did a little bit of looking to see if anyone had this same issue but could not find anything. Since the most recent software update, I cannot read the text in the My Files app specifically. No other text in the settings of the phone or app do this. I've changed my theme multiple times (Galaxy store themes) but neither change the look to that app besides the background and some of the non-important text. I'll be looking into a 3rd part file managing app but wanted to put this out there anyways to see if anyone knows or is also having this issue

Galaxy Note PhonesI fixed this problem in a very complicated way:
▪︎Go into the app info for My Files and uninstall all of the updates.
▪︎Get the updated APK from a site and install it as an update.
▪︎You should be able to see everything now, but your theme might not work on this app anymore.

Galaxy Note PhonesAlthough I do not have the unreadable text for files/folders in My Files on my Note8 (SM-N950U1, Android Pie 9.0, Samsung One UI 1.0), I do have the issue on my Note9 (SM-N960U1, Android Pie 9.0, Samsung One UI 1.0).
I am using a high-contrast theme from the Galaxy store by theme.seller (Samsung) on the Note8.
I noticed on the Note9 that the text in My Files in unreadable with any dark theme from the Galaxy Store that I applied to the phone. The text is readable for My Files in light-colored themes.
Samsung also has a "Night Mode" available that you may use with wallpapers for your lock and home screen. You have to uninstall any theme you have downloaded to use "Night Mode." After you uninstall your theme, please download the default theme for your phone from the Galaxy Store, then select "Night Mode," and add wallpapers.
I think the text issue may be an Android Pie issue? I hope this helps you!

Galaxy Note PhonesSamsung released a new update for My Files. Please check to see if there is an update in the Galaxy Store for My Files.
I updated My Files on the Note9 this morning, and then applied the high contrast theme from the Galaxy Store. Text (files/folders) is readable in My Files now if you use a dark theme. Thank you, Samsung!

Galaxy Note PhonesMy better half's Note9 did not have an update available for the Samsung's My Files app, but he had an update available for One UI in the Play Store that I downloaded.
I applied a dark theme from the Galaxy Store to his phone and noticed that the files/folders were still unreadable in My Files. I uninstalled the updates from My Files as @ShadowArtist201 recommended then restarted the phone. The text is readable in My Files. 🤔👍

Galaxy Note PhonesI have the same text problem in the Samsung reminder App. Was OK before the update. Very annoying.
