Different One UI versions depending on phone model?

I have a Note 10+ and as far as I know, I have the latest One UI 2.5.  A family member just upgraded to the A51 and that phone has differences in its UI.  Minor differences, yes, but many cool ones!

There are aesthetic changes and functional ones.  Just a couple of examples of these include the finger print scanner lighting up when you touch it, more edge lighting options, WAY more ring/text/notification tones (many of which are AWESOME), etc...

It just appears to be a newer, nicer UI with way more customization options than what my Note10+ has, but they got their A51 for a fraction of the price.  How can the UI be different between phones if the latest version that they all run is 2.5?  How can I get this version, or add these features to my phone?

nope. and more nope. you can't add them or get them. the A models are their mid tier lower cost phones...those are Aesthetics given to the phone to make it appeal nicer. yes a different model could have a different UI as in say 2.1 to 2.5, but the skin over the phone is series dependent. yrs ago Galaxy line phones came with a more galaxy based theme whilst the others had a basic TouchWiz skin over stock Android.

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you!  I had no ideas they could overlay "skins" onto the main UI.  Also, very interesting about how it was years ago... I think I remember that and I seem to remember hearing about or seeing "TouchWiz" somewhere... but no idea where or why!

the special effects and the tones and more edge lighting options are all battery and ram drainer. if you want more edge lighting go on Galaxy store and download edge lighting+ from them. the appearance is made to be nice sonic deters you from the things its lacking. like Ooohhh look, pretty, I want it. sold! to the person that likes low quality mp3 ring tones and shiny things. get what i mean?

...and yes, when you put it that way. .. that IS exactly what it seemed like when I used it!  Essentially was just unique, but minor customizations and personalizations. Hmmm... almost to distract you from what really matters on the phone?!  Admittedly, I only used it for about 10 minutes, just so I could browse if it had any other major features it had (plus to see all the "pretty" animated effects haha) BUT I never got a chance to actually test its power or performance - which im sure is nothing compared to what I got! - because in the end that IS what I care about the most in a phone.  Still, I can be a sucker for some cool visuals and effects at times 🤤 D@%# all these shiny things!
