Has the issue now resolved itself? Have you tried Force Stopping and Clearing the Data from the Play Store app and Google Play Services app?

I've actually  had some issues with two of the Google apps (Store and Music, also haven't tried the other Google apps), and only cleared the cache from Google Play store then restarted the phone. Google Play Store still doesn't work, after being there for less than a minute, it takes me back to the home screen. So not sure if clearing all cache data on phone would be the way to go.

Try uninstalling the google play app update in settings. Go ino settings...google play app... click on the three dot menu and select uninstall updates. Then exit out to the home screen and open google play again. Google play should update itself and, hopefully, work correctly.

This actually works! Google Play Store doesn't back out to home screen, Google Play Music finally shows album pictures and play music, even the clock that comes pre-installed on the phone is working again!
