I want to root my phone but I can't find anything on a successful root. Help me out please.

I'm not sure what would compel you to root your phone: most features for which I used to root are now either part of Android or available without rooting. it will also 'break' many apps, like financial & banking, that will not run on rooted devices.

At any rate: the last time I checked Verizon-branded devices have an encrypted bootloader, so true rooting is not possible. The only workaround is a bootstrap program that boots the phone into a separate custom ROM. Think of it as a sort of virtual machine for Android: but that's the closest I think you're going to get.
