I'm using a Note10+ phone.

I was taking some photos with the camera. Out-of-the-blue it showed my face, like I wanted to take a selfie. But I hadn’t knowingly done anything to tell the camera app that I wanted to take a selfie! Here’s what I see under the Camera app settings:

Scene optimizer
Shot suggestions
Scan QR codes
Swipe Shutter button to
Format and advanced options
Advanced recording options
(selfies is a sub-topic under Advanced recording options showing...)
Use wide angle...
Save selfies as...
Selfie color tone...)
Advanced recording options
Video stabilization
HDR (rich tone)
Tracking auto-focus
Grid lines
Location tags
Shooting methods
Settings to keep
Shutter sound
Vibration feedback

About camera

I don't see any obvious setting under the selfies sub-topic that would indicate how to get it to stop wanting to take selfies.

TIA for any suggestions.

@SweetTasha

There are two ways to switch between the front (selfie) camera and rear camera.

  1. Clicking the switch camera button which is to the right of the shutter button
  2. Swiping up or down in the camera display area.

Perhaps you accidently did one of those actions.

Another way it could of happened. If you said "Hey Bixby, take a selfie."

Sorry that I haven't replied sooner.

Before I got a chance to try out your suggestions, the camera seemed to "heal itself." But thanks for the info. If it happens again I'll know what to try.
