I'm using face recognition with alternate pin to open the home screen on my note10+. It often takes 4 to swipes for it to recognize my face, and sometimes I have to use the pin. I wonder if fingerprint recognition would be more accurate? Is it available for my note10+?

Thanks.

Yes fingerprint recognition is available for the Note 10+. You can set it up by going into your biometrics and security settings. I recommend registering the same fingerprint twice for more accuracy. I hope this helps!

It works. Smiley Happy

It kept asking me to lift my finger and re-position it and the % kept going up, but I was beginning to worry that it wasn't going to register.  So when you say "I recommend registering the same fingerprint twice for more accuracy" does that imply that it might recognize another person's fingerprint as mine? Or does it just mean that it minimizes the chance of it NOT recognizing my fingerprint? In any event, if it does fail to recognize mine, will I be given the opportunity to use my pin?

Thanks.

It doesn't mean that it will recognize someone else's fingerprint. Its just minimizes the chance of it not recognizing yours. In any event if it does fail then yes you can use your pin.👍

It is recommended that you always register biometrics twice. The reason is you never put your finger in the same place. This is why during registration it requires you to lift your finger and replace it multiple times. It is actually building a model of your finger so it has a better chance of recognizing you. Make sure you have the current biometric version, also make sure you do at least one finger on each hand (if applicable).
