I've noticed that on my note 9, that the camera freezes while taking pictures. It's worse while shooting videos with a lot of lagging.

I don't know if anyone one else have experienced this.

The product specialists have not given us an update as of yet. As soon as they do, we will post it publicly.

@SamsungLarryK Ok but just to confirm they did tell you there is a fix specificially for this camera freezing issue coming soon right?

It gets confusing when you say haven't given you an update yet and @SamsungNik says there's definitively a fix for this camera freezing issue coming soon.

I too got the arj9 on Verizon. I can confirm that it does not fix the problem. I applied the update and cleared the cache partition.

Ok that's fair. I appreciate the confirmation.

So it looks like we're definitely getting a fix for this issue. Confirmed by two people.

Thank you!

So it looks like we're definitely getting a fix for this issue. Confirmed by two people.

But not by any official statement from Samsung, which still does not publicly acknowledge that this is a serious problem exhibited by perhaps 15-30% of the Note9s.

It's been three months so far that Samsung has been unable to fix the problem. Even if a fix is coming, it could take another three months, or six, or twelve. The phone should not have gone on sale with a defect this severe.

Well what do you want as far as a public acknowledgement? There's no news outlets reporting the issue besides the one Forbes article. So why would Samsung want to "publically" acknowledge anything if no one even knew they had a problem?

It looks like people are getting the November security patch on Verizon/Sprint/AT&T. Unlocked should be getting it within the next week or two.

We have confirmation that specific camera freezing issue was recognized, investigated, and the fix for the problem is coming in the next two patches.

Somebody suggested to turn off all AI features of the camera. Trying that now.

I've had AI off since September. Made no difference for me.

Here's what I noticed: I can hear/feel the aperture blades adjusting back and forth right around the time the image freezes.  Even in video it does this. Then I get the message that Camera Failed. When I reopen the camera, it seems to work fine.

I just got another update today, so I'll see if it glitches again.

I noticed that too but I flipped the camera over and watched the camera lens. The aperture blades do not move when it freeezes. So this issue is not directly caused by the aperture blades. Also the click sound you hear comes from the phone's speakers, not the camera sensor directly.
