Since my Note 9 updated to 9.0 and One UI the compass is not working accurately.  About 90 degrees off. I've calibrated it several times (*#0*#) with no success. Anyone else experience this and is there a fix?  This is happening without a case on the phone so there is no interference from that.

Unfortunately, the Google Location Accuracy makes no difference. The issue is with the readings being put out by the Magnetic Sensor. Google Location Accuracy only tries to help by using other methods to contribute to a more accurate location. This has no bearing on the Magnetic Sensor. I'm able to see my location on a map just fine. The problem is with anything using the Magnetic Sensor for directional data, like the Compass or the marker in Google Maps. They both face the wrong direction due to the incorrect readings from the Magnetic Sensor. Anything else that uses this data is also wrong, as the source info is wrong to begin with.

This issue is now affecting my job, as an app I use for work requires a working megnetic sensor. It'd be great if we could at least get an acknowledgement of the issue and some sort of timeline for a fix. Otherwise, I'm stuck trying to find a different phone I can use for work, since this one isn't up to the task right now.

If I could figure out how to attach a photo to this page, I would.  I dug out my old Boy Scout Compass and a have a photo of this $5 Compass next to a $1000 phone and the $5 compass is more accurate.

Try this Samsung site and let them know more about this issue.  The "Voice of the Customer"

I also want to escalate this to our specialists. Can everyone please provide the model code of your note 9 and the current baseband version you are running? This information can be found in the menu under About Device.

Baseband Version: N960USQU1CSAA

Model number: SM-N960U

I am guessing that model number is the same thing as model code as I could not find model code.
